H.E. Faisal Al Bannai
Chairman of the Board
Faisal Al Bannai is the Chairman of the Board of Modon, and the Founder and Managing Director of DarkMatter, where he builds on his prior leadership experience in the regional technology start up space. He provides the overall vision, strategy and operational guidance to DarkMatter, and to its senior executive team, which is comprised of some of the world’s most accomplished cyber security practitioners.
Faisal is the founder and Managing Director of UAE-based Axiom Telecom, an AED 8.1 billion (USD 2.2 billion) company that is a regional leader in the wireless technology and mobility sectors. Established in 1997, the company is the official regional distributor for most of the world’s most prominent electronic consumer brands, distributing up to 40% of all devices sold in the region. The company also is the largest wireless retailer in the region, leading innovation in the sector through its ability to track market dynamics and pricing on a real-time basis.
At Axiom, he has led the brand’s growth strategy across the full spectrum of business activities, including devising the strategic planning and technology developments needed to maintain the company’s expansion and deliver breakthrough wireless concepts to the region. He was instrumental in incorporating the Toyota Production System into the company’s operations, a key tool that helped enable the company’s continuous improvement programme.
During nearly 20 years at the helm of Axiom, Faisal has earned a range of accolades, including the Arabian Business 2005 “Entrepreneur of the Year” award; a 2005 Lifetime Achievement Award presented by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai; and the CEO of the Year Award in 2012. He also has been honoured with an Arab Achievement Award in 2011 and a Dubai Quality Award in 2012
Faisal earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from Boston University and a Master’s Degree in Shipping Trade and Finance from City University in London.
H.E. Saif Bader Al Qubaisi
HE Saif Bader Al Qubaisi, Vice Chairman of the board of Modon, Since November 2017, has been the General Manager of the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City. He is currently responsible for developing the Municipality and leading the Digital Transformation Project.
Prior to that, HE Saif Al Qubaisi has served since May 2013 as the Director General of Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, and worked on its establishment and the development of housing programs of all types, including the rules and regulations of each program and the preparation of organizational structures, development of a central database of citizens under his leadership, and the formulation of policies and procedures for all sectors in the Authority.
H.E. succeeded in the transition to a paper free work environment and one of his most important achievements was the automation of the housing services submission process and reduction of client waiting time insuring it does not exceed 10 minutes through the development of business application «CBA» which utilizes the customer's identity card, to retrieves citizen’s social data in addition to information on their income and ownership via specified data sources through a designated electronic connectivity with local and federal departments.
From April 2009 to 2014, Saif Al Qubaisi served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA). At that time, it was the largest integrated health care network in the Middle East, which included 12 hospitals with a bed capacity of 2644, 62 clinics, & 16750 employees. His Excellency, who helped set foundation for and establish SEHA into a public shareholding company, as he chaired the Managing Director position in December 2007 and was the first to hold this position.
Prior to his service with SEHA, Mr. Al Qubaisi spent more than 7 ½ years in the government sector with Health Authority- Abu Dhabi (HAAD) where he established himself as a strong administrator and manager, rising rapidly from the role of an administrative officer, to head of purchasing, then human resources and eventually over all support services for HAAD. His prowess in understanding the complex nature of healthcare services landed him the role of Director, Health Services for HAAD in early 2007 where he directed the operational performance of the public healthcare facilities of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and was responsible for the establishment of plans for the provision of healthcare services. It was during this period that Emiri Decree #10 was enacted, establishing Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA).
Under his management, SEHA has won several awards. His Excellency was honored on more than one occasion and received many awards including:
- Abu Dhabi Award for Excellence in Administrative Supervision in 2007.
- The World Health Innovation Award of “ID World” in 2007 for his leadership role in the advancement of healthcare technology.
Al Qubaisi is a member of several boards of directors, advisory bodies and committees for a number of entities like Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA), Modon Properties, Department of Transport, Abu Dhabi Waste Management Center “Tadweer”. H.E. also chairs the Technology Committee in the Department of Urban Planning and Municipalities, as well as acting Chair of the Social Development Committee in the Executive Council.
Al Qubaisi holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration in 1999 and received a Master's Degree in the same specialization with honors in 2010 and both degrees acquired from the Higher Colleges of Technology - Abu Dhabi.
He is married and has five children and his hobbies are running and swimming.
H.E. Hamad Nukheirat Al Ameri
With over thirty years of experience in various professional roles in a number of local and federal government organizations. H.E. Hamad Nukheirat Al Ameri has led many transformational projects in the areas of leadership, strategic planning and innovation that contributed to the government vision and agenda.
He has participated in the development and management of many programs related to the goals and initiatives which are in consistent with Abu Dhabi Government strategy and vision through establishing supporting rules and regulations, proposing policies and legislation and overseeing their implementation, monitoring the achievements and implementation plans, enhancing strategic partnerships and risk management.
He has also overseen several federal and local strategic projects which have brought successfully numerous achievements to develop action strategies and related supporting policies and legislation in order to achieve the most optimal technological solutions aligned to the criteria of excellence such as standardization and organization of regulations, performance management, organizational restructuring, effective communication with individuals, change management, and other strategic parameters.
As Director General of Abu Dhabi Housing Authority (ADHA), he leads the operation management in ADHA, whose mandate is to provide suitable housing for the citizens of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, monitor plans, policies and regulations, implement housing programs for the citizens, propose regulations and legislation to ensure advancement of these programs, in addition to setting frameworks and tools to engage the private sector towards achieving the vision and aspirations of ADHA. Under the directives of the Leadership and His Excellency, ADHA launched the updated housing policies aimed at providing housing services within a short time and at the highest standards and bringing happiness to the citizens and providing social stability in the Abu Dhabi Emirate.
Prior to his duties at Abu Dhabi Housing Authority (ADHA), he held several positions in several institutions including the management of the General Authority of Ports Borders and Free Zones Security, Chairman of the Nationality and Naturalization Affairs Committee, Director of the Justice and Security Sector in the Executive Council of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, and Chairman and Member of the Technical Committee for the Football Union.
His Excellency has also been a member of the board of directors of many institutions and authorities including the General Authority of Ports Borders and Free Zones Security, The Higher Committee of Maritime Areas Security, The Committee for Goods and Materials Subject to Import and Export Control, the Committee for the phenomenon of infiltration and illegal immigration to and from the UAE, the Permanent Sub-Committee for Security Affairs at the Supreme Council for National Security, the Committee for the Study of Maritime Docks Policy, The Committee for the review of Amendment of the Draft Law on Nationality and Passports formed at the Interior Ministry, the Higher Committee for the Early Passenger Inquiry Project, the Committee for Study and Assessment of the Security Threats and Risks Resulted from Sustained Border Problems, the Higher Committee for Advance Passenger Information System, the Committee for Activation of the Role of the General Authority for the Security of Ports, Borders and Free Zones, the Higher Committee for Pre-Approval of Air Transport between the UAE and the United States and the Supreme Legislation Committee.
In addition to his duties as Director General of Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, he is a member of the Social Development Committee at the Executive Council of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, and a member of Board of Directors of Dar Zayed for Family Care, and a member of Board of Directors of Modon Properties, and is the Managing Director of Al Ain Sports and Cultural Club, and a member of the Asian Champion League.
His Excellency Hamad Nukheirat Al Ameri is a laureate of the Loyal Service Medal of 2012, the Long-Term Loyal Service Medal of 2012, the Long Loyal Service Medal of 2013, and elected to be the best sports management personality in the UAE, best Arab management figure, and best Asian manager.
H.E. Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri
In addition to being a Member of the Board of Modon, H.E. Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri is one of the dynamic leaders who joined Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC) when it was founded in 2005, after a 10-year career with leading governmental and non-governmental entities in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Since then he has played a significant role in raising ADNEC’s profile as leading event venue at regional and international levels, and he has played an integral role in defining ADNEC’s revised corporate strategy and company vision. Prior to his appointment as ADNEC’s Group Chief Executive Officer, Humaid held several senior positions at ADNEC including the role as Chief Commercial Officer where he significantly contributed to ADNEC’s development into one of Abu Dhabi’s most dynamic organisations. He also occupies a number of other senior positions including being a Member of the Board of Directors of Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority, ExCeL London, the National Conferences and Exhibitions Committee, and Al Ain Club Investment Company. Humaid holds a Masters in Strategy and National Security Studies from the National Defense College in Abu Dhabi, International Accounting and Financial Management from the University Of Glasgow in the UK, and Bachelor of Accounting from the United Arab Emirates University.
H.E. Saeed Al Mazrouei
In addition to being a board member at Modon, H.E. Saeed Al Mazrouei is the Head of Mergers & Acquisitions of Mubadala, and before his current position, he was seconded from Mubadala to oversee the Debt Management Office (DMO) within the Abu Dhabi Department of Finance. In 2009, he spearheaded the launch and establishment of the DMO and continues to lead the office strategic direction.
Before his appointment to the Department of Finance, Saeed served in Mubadala Acquisitions Unit for two years, having worked in The National Investor for two years in the field of investment banking.
Saeed has served as a board member in Aldar Properties Abu Dhabi Fund for Development. Currently, he is a board member of Aabar Investments.
His achievements have included successful private placement of THURAYA, a leading mobile satellite operator, Tamweel IPO and successful acquisition of Viceroy Hotel group. Also, he was responsible for the establishment of Mubadala GE Capital company. Recently, successful sell of Mubadala a 40% stake in Tabreed to ENGIE for AED 2.8 billion.
Saeed was a member of the Project Management Office that was responsible for Mubadala and IPIC merger.
During his role in the DMO he lead government transactions to provide support funding to Dubai government, Abu Dhabi banks, Aldar, and Sorouh Properties worth more than USD 30 billion, completed a USD 10 billion joint venture agreement between Russian Direct Investment Fund and the Department of Finance and debt raising of USD 3.0 billion.
Saeed holds a BSc in Finance from Suffolk University, US, an MSc in International Securities Investment and Banking from the University of Reading, UK, and an MSc in National Security and Strategic Studies from National Defense College, UAE
